About Me
As an experienced English teacher, I have excellent writing and editing skills.
I have been teaching high school English for five years. I have taught the following grades/subjects: English I, English II, English III, English IV, AP English IV, and Creative Writing.
I currently teach at a technology-based school (all of the students have laptops) in which I integrate technology into the curriculum on a daily basis. I use Moodle to facilitate technology-based instruction.
I have taken over 30 hours of credited coursework in Information Systems and Web/Graphic Design at Wake Technical Community College.
Website/Graphic Design
I designed the website www.teacherscoffeehouse.com (including all of the graphics) using Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
I recently self-published a book entitled Short Stories for Reading Comprehension. I created all of the illustrations using Illustrator and Photoshop. I also completed the layout for the book using Adobe Indesign.
I created all of the illustrations for the posters on my website.
My teaching experience combined with my web and graphic design experience makes me a very effective instructional designer.
I created a blog(www.freethingsforteachers.com) and a website (www.teacherscoffehouse.com) that offer advice as well as free workbooks, posters, and worksheets for teachers.
I designed all of the posters, worksheets, and workbooks on my website. Furthermore, I have also recently published a workbook entitled Short Stories for Reading Comprehension.
